# The LifeDAO Membership

Joining The LifeDAO starts by making a financial contribution in exchange for Membership Credits. Members make annual contributions that determine the amount of Membership Credits they receive. The minimum term for a TLD membership currently is 5 years. In turn, Membership Credits entitle the member to the benefits and privileges described further on.
