Unlocked Credits can be redeemed by members against their share of the fund surplus.

Recall that the value of each Credit is pegged to the value of the surplus in the tDAO treasury. Recall from the previous section on calculating reserves that the underwriting surplus are the assets left over after claims and expenses are paid and investment returns realized. As such, whenever a Credit is redeemed, it is equivalent to a member cashing out his share of the fund surplus.

Once a Credit is redeemed, digital assets equivalent to the exit token value are transferred out of the DAO fund to the exiting member and the Credit is burned or destroyed. This ensures that the remaining Credits maintain their value and are not affected by the reduction in assets.
