Community Life Fund
Technical Definition: A member-governed, smart contract-powered mutual fund that finances the Life Benefit payouts.
Translation: The safety net your dues fall into—and help catch someone else when life hits hard.
Collective Investment Pools
Technical Definition: Member-vetted investment opportunities that allow fractional, Shariah-compliant group participation.
Translation: Team investing for grown-ups. Real assets, real rewards, no Wall Street suits required.
DAO (Decentralized Autonomous Organization)
Technical Definition: A governance system where control lies with members, and decisions are executed via smart contracts.
Translation: A group project where the code keeps everyone honest—and no one can hog the whiteboard.
Education Hub
Technical Definition: TLD’s digital learning platform for financial literacy, crypto basics, and ethical investing.
Translation: Your crash course in how to grow, save, and not accidentally buy a scam coin.
Farewell Services
Technical Definition: An opt-in end-of-life service that supports burial, repatriation, and legal logistics for deceased members.
Translation: We help you rest in peace—while your family rests a little easier.
Governance
Technical Definition: The system through which members vote using TLD Credits on proposals and fund decisions.
Translation: Your say in what happens next. One wallet, one vote (kind of).
KYC (Know Your Customer)
Technical Definition: A required identity verification process to unlock financial services and stay AML compliant.
Translation: Yes, it’s that “upload your ID” thing. Do it once, then move on with your life.
Life Benefit (Life Protection Benefit)
Technical Definition: A lump-sum payout provided to a nominee upon a subscribed member’s death.
Translation: Your final mic drop: helping your loved ones stay afloat even after you’re gone and before the will kicks in.
Member
Technical Definition: An individual who has completed registration and paid annual dues to The LifeDAO Association.
Translation: You. Us. The people making this thing real—one contribution at a time.
Member Connect
Technical Definition: A private community networking tool that enables peer support, mentorship, and global collaboration.
Translation: Your new favorite group chat—where people actually want to help you.
Membership Credits (TLD Credits)
Technical Definition: Tokens issued to members representing participation, governance rights, and potential surplus eligibility.
Translation: Not airdrops. Not stock. Just your ticket to vote, grow, and maybe get a piece of the extra pie.
Membership Contribution
Technical Definition: An annual contribution (currently $25) required to activate and maintain membership.
Translation: The one bill you’ll feel good about paying. No strings. Just community.
Pioneer
Technical Definition: A member who contributed early (pre-June 21, 2025) and unlocked exclusive status and benefits.
Translation: The OG crew. They believed before it was cool—and now they get the cool stuff.
rsNFT (Revenue-Share NFT)
Technical Definition: A non-transferable digital token issued to Pioneers that grants access to RevShare rewards and proves early member status.
Translation: Your VIP pass to early perks—and a share of the pie as TLD thrives.
Smart Contract
Technical Definition: Code deployed on the blockchain that executes specific functions automatically when conditions are met.
Translation: A digital robot lawyer that does what it says—and never forgets the fine print.
Surplus Distribution
Technical Definition: The optional redistribution of leftover funds to active members based on TLD Credit holdings, when the fund is healthy.
Translation: If there’s extra, it doesn’t vanish. It goes to you—not a yacht fund.
