# LifeWallet

The LifeWallet is your self-custodial digital purse for managing crypto/funds in The Lifedao ecosystem.

You can buy, sell, trade, and move supported crypto across supported blockchain networks. You can also add funds using a Virtual IBAN.

### Why self-custody matters

Think of a traditional bank account. The bank holds your money and manages account access. Your access depends on that institution and its systems.

LifeWallet works differently. You hold the wallet keys, so you control access to your crypto. No bank holds those keys for you.

This gives you more direct control. It also gives you responsibility. Keep your wallet credentials and recovery information private and secure.

### What you can do

* Buy, sell, and trade supported crypto.
* Move crypto across supported blockchain networks.
* Add funds through a [Virtual IBAN](/the-lifedao-kb/products-and-benefits/lifewallet/virtual-iban.md). It provides bank-style account details for funding your wallet.
